The Problem.

Exisiting solutions are costly and greatly limited.

Existing solutions create a large financial burden and put inspectors at risk to fulfill regulatory requirements. The current visual inspection process provides data from the small amount of time an inspector is onsite, leaving leaks potentially undetected for long periods of time. This can lead to more costly maintenance and remedial actions than if operators were aware of a leak immediately.
On the contrary, if there are no pollution incidents for months on end, the operator is burdened with major transportation and labor costs to perform the mandated visual inspections even without incident.

Regulatory Requirements

Operators must abide by strict requirements set forth by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement Agency.
Under 30 CFR 250.301 operators are required to inspect production facilities daily or at intervals approved or prescribed by the District Manager.

Incident
Stats.

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) is responsible for keeping yearly records of offshore incident reports. Below are the most recent stats reported:

11 Spills

Oil spills, particularly those left undetected, lead to detrimental long-term environmental effects. Accidents are going to happen, but with better monitoring systems in place, we can find and alleviate problems before they grow.

4 Occupational Fatalities & 160 Injuries

Working on platforms in the oil and gas industry comes with significant job hazards. By using our Environmental Radar System, operators can minimize sending workers out to complete  in-person inspections, lowering the risk of injuries and fatalities.

The take away.

Routine Visual Inspections are costly & create greater risk

BSEE requires many production facility visits that come with high transportation and labor costs.

Limited Inspection time = Limited data

The current inspection process aligns with a reactive or time-based approach that can lead to higher margin for error and hinders the creation of useful technological innovations.

Unnecessary Use of time & Resources

If there are no pollution incidents for weeks or months on end, the operator is still required to perform these costly inspections.

The SOLUTION.

With more accurate, round-the-clock detection technology, you can have more control over your oil and gas platforms than ever before.
